Every year around 25,000 people from Northern Ireland travel to the unlikely destination of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the small town of Medjugorje. But sun, sand and silly souvenirs are not high on the list of priorities for these holiday makers, rather they are searching for spiritual enlightenment; for a vision of the Blessed Virgin Mary; and for cures for everything from addiction and loneliness to cancer.

Marija Pavlovic Lunetti, quien ha dicho que siendo una adolescente vio a la Virgen Maria en Bosnia-Herzegovina y que como adulta la vio en Sterrett, vendrá nuevamente a la pequeña población de Shelby County para asistir a una jornada de oración del 8 al 14 de diciembre. El evento, denominado los “Siete Díaz de Oración” ("Seven Days of Prayer"), se llevará a cabo en Caritas de Birmingham, una pequeña comunidad de vida rural que en años recientes ha sido acusada de ser un culto. La última visita de Lunetti a Caritas en 1999 atrajo una multitud de entre 20,000 a 30,000 personas.
